Hi!  Glad you stopped by to check out my blog.  I hope you’ll come back often to hear what’s going on in my busy life and to check out some of my recipes.  I’d love it if you left comments and/or shared your recipes as well.  I’m guessing that most of my readers are people who I know in some capacity but in the off chance that you don’t know me, let me tell you a little bit about myself…

In a nutshell I’m a 30 (yikes!) year old easy going, life loving, coffee drinking, iPhone using, Target obsessed, wife and mother of two daughters.

I blog just to share some of the funny and crazy things that go on in our lives and to share some of the things that I make.  I’m not looking to become a power blogger or to gain a mass following.  I just like to write.  I love my girls and my husband and I think that some of our adventures are funny.  If reading about us gives you a laugh or a new dinner idea, then I would consider this blog a success.

In my past life (before kids) I was a third grade teacher at an inner city school.  I absolutely loved my job and everything related to it.  I loved creating bulletin boards, planning lessons, and seeing those light blubs go off when the kids got what I was teaching.  It was an extremely rewarding career, just not a very lucrative one.  I wouldn’t trade my current “job” as a stay-at-home-mom for anything, but I do have moments where I miss teaching.

I married my best friend on July 3, 2005.  We have been together as a couple for over 10 years and married for almost 5 years.  We welcomed our first daughter, Brinley, in September 2006 and our second daughter, Nora, in May 2009.  I love my girls more than life itself and would do absolutely anything for them.  Even though there are plenty of days where they make me want to rip out my hair, they bring me so much joy.  You see, I’ve wanted to be a mother for as long as I can remember.  I take pride in every aspect of motherhood.  I love picking out clothes for my kids and getting them dressed (when they cooperate) and I’m anal about my three year old’s hair.

If you’re ever looking for me I can probably be found in Target* with my two girls in tow wearing my pink and gray North Face fleece, toting a medium French Vanilla with milk and sugar from Dunks* while updating my Facebook status on my iPhone*.  I wouldn’t have it any other way!

*A big huge thanks to my amazing husband for supporting these habits with all of his hard work at the office.
