Language Explosion

In the past week Brinley has started saying “broccoli” and “pickle” – two words I never expected to hear from my 16 month old. Its so hilarious hearing these words come from such a little mouth. She says them so perfectly too! Another of my favorites is her response to my question, “Where’s dada?” She looks right at me and says, “work”. Its so stinkin’ cute! She has also learned almost all of her colors. When asked, she can pick out blue, red, orange, black and purple. She can also say most of them as well.. purple is my favorite! The other day she turned to me holding her Elmo doll and said, “Elmo red!” She is so smart. Now that her vocabulary is growing its much easier to understand her needs and wants. She says “more” and “please”. She is very good at shaking her head “no” but hasn’t yet mastered “yes”. Its so much fun watching (and listening to) her grow. She amazes us everyday with new things and new words. Being a mom is so much fun!
